Find support

If you are in immediate danger

Call your local emergency number. In the EU and UK that is 112 or 999; in the US and Canada, 911. If you are somewhere else, your country's emergency number is listed on the directory below.

If you cannot speak safely, most countries support a silent call procedure — the directory below explains how it works where you are.

If you would like confidential specialist support

lila.help lists vetted crisis centres and helplines for almost every country in the world. It is maintained by the Global Network of Women's Shelters and re-verified every six months.

We link to it rather than keeping our own list, because a directory that is not maintained is worse than no directory at all. Nothing you do on that site is visible to us.

If you would rather talk to someone in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Laura Mallene is a violence-prevention educator who runs workshops at BJJ camps. What she can help with, and what she cannot, is set out on that page before you contact her.

Leaving no trace

The Quick exit button at the top of every page, and the <kbd>Esc</kbd> key, replace this page immediately and do not leave it in your back button.

That is not the same as leaving no trace. If someone has access to your device, your browser history and any synced devices will still show a visit. Using a private or incognito window, on a device only you use, is the more reliable option.
